FZM Journal*
New perspectives, feminist voices, transnational debates

The FZM* Journal is a new multilingual space for feminist, migrant, and queer perspectives. We want to make visible experiences, analyses, and knowledge that often receive too little space in public and media debates.

We invite FLINTA*, queer, and migrant authors, activists, artists, academics, as well as staff from initiatives, NGOs, and associations to send us their ideas and article proposals.

Possible topics include:

• Women*, migration, and social participation

• feminist and queer activism

• transnational feminist networks and solidarities

• encounters and knowledge exchange

• reproductive rights and justice

• gender-based violence and femicides

• anti-feminism, racism, and multiple discrimination

• feminist art, culture, and political practice

We welcome analytical pieces, political essays, personal accounts, interviews, and other journalistic or creative text formats. Submissions can be made in German, English, or Spanish. Proposals in other languages can also be considered by arrangement.

How to propose an article

Send us an email at kontakt@fzm-berlin.com with:

• a working title

• a short description of your idea (approx. 150–250 words)

• the intended language

• a few sentences about you and your work

For publication, we need:

• a text of approx. 1,000–2,000 words

• a short bio for the author profile (max. 100 words)

• a portrait photo with image credit and permission to publish

• at least one high-resolution image for the article, preferably landscape format and as a JPG or PNG file (at least 2,000 pixels wide), with caption, image credit, and permission to publish

• if applicable, links to your website, your project, or your social media profiles

We discuss submissions and the further editorial process individually with the authors. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee publication. Editorial changes are made in consultation with the authors.

The first contributions will be published from September 2026. Proposals can already be submitted now.
